I could list a lot of things that I wish I knew before I started, however, we choose not to focus on that. We’d rather just focus on enjoying the fact that we’re always learning something new.”

How Is REVEAL Helping the Environment?

“We make our products from environmentally friendly materials that are 100% cruelty free. We use recycled materials whenever possible. When using virgin materials, we make our best efforts to use those that are non-polluting, renewable resources. Our gorgeous Fall/Winter handbags are made of recycled satin and recycled micro suede. We did our Spring/Summer line in sustainable materials like hemp and jute. Our wooden accessories are made of either bamboo or recycled furniture parts.

Our packaging and our website also aim to make it very easy for people to understand what our products are made of and why they are eco-friendly. The concept of REVEAL came from the idea of revealing how our products are made and empowering people to make better choices. “People certainly like the fact that we are aiming to do things better. However, people also buy our products simply because they like the design, they like the way the products look and function. It’s not possible to depend solely on the fact that we’re eco-friendly to draw customers; you can’t expect people to sacrifice fashion and functionality for something that is eco-friendly. In order for there to be real change, we as entrepreneurs/business owners need to help make it easier for people to make more environmentally friendlier choices.

“People mostly don’t have the time to research environmentally friendly products, so our packaging concepts helps inform and empower people. In addition, people love our REPLANT program because it is so tangible and allows people to feel like they are making a difference. For every product sold, we plant a tree. Granted, a child is easier to entice than an adult in most cases, but there are advertisements that create a true call to action. These advertisements get your attention and then you become the sales person – even if you’re selling to yourself. “Can I really afford the new software?” “Should I really buy that truck?” “That was an interesting looking game. Maybe I should see if I can buy it.” All of these are internal wrestling matches that occur.

Marketers – focus on creating your call to action and let the client become their own salesperson. Your sales team can then simply ‘help’ them over the edge by ensuring that the technical fit is right and the need is appropriate. Think about how to reach your target group and grab their attention. Make them WANT to call you and talk to you. Not later. Now.

Additionally; by having your website in both versions; this will ensure your website can be found on different search engines; and think it of this way; this is almost like creating 2 websites under 1 website; hence double your web presence effectively.

  1. Web contents: similarly; you have to have good web contents for your Chinese website; these web contents must contain keywords and SEO-friendly to assist your website to rank higher in the search engine.
  2. Hosting: The location to host your Chinese website is a hidden secret; it is a rather complex issue; on one hand; you want your website to be hosted on a local server in China but taking a risk that it maybe terminated by the authority without any reason. On another hand; you want to ensure your website is always live in China; so what should you do? As most people know, Google is the biggest and most widely used search engine online.

Most people’s first port of call, when searching for anything from virtual assistants to antiques, is to quickly type what they are looking for into Google.

The solution to this is Google Maps. I added my website and all my information to Google Maps, which is free, and within 24hrs I had appeared on the first page of my Google search for Virtual Assistants.

As I am roughly the only person in my area of this occupation, I was ranked top. If you have a more popular occupation for example ‘florist’ you may not be ranked in the information on the right hand side of the map of your local area, but you will still be on the map as a pin, so people only have to scroll their cursor over you and all of your information will pop up for them to see.

Firstly all you have to do is go to Google Maps.
– Click on ‘put your business on Google maps’.
– If you have not signed up to Google, do so on the page displayed, don’t worry it only takes a second and is completely free, otherwise, log-in to your account.
– Then click ‘add listing’ and fill in all of your information, I feel the more information you have for people to read, the more appealing it is at first glance as they get to know a lot more.
– Then click next, confirm your information and the position of your pin on the map.
– You will be asked to confirm that you are legit with a pin that can be sent to the phone number you have supplied either by automated phone call or text.
– If you have not provided a contact number then you are sent a pin via post, this will obviously take much longer to get listed, so it is better to supply a number for people to contact you on.
– Once you have received your pin, this takes a minute or two, you submit it and Voila! You have your Google Maps listing. It will normally be active within 24hrs, simple!

This is a fantastic way to advertise locally, for free, and it only takes a matter of minutes to do!
It will improve traffic to your website, list you on the first Google search page of any person locally looking for your criteria and can help to improve your overall Google ranking.
